Fake lawyer arrested in Ogun court

One Tajudeen Idris has been arrested for posing as a legal practitioner in an Ogun court.

Idris’ bubble burst on Friday at Magistrates’ Court 6 in Ifo Local Government Area of the state where he represented the defendant in in a civil case between one Ifeanyi Chuckwu and Ayo Itori, according to a statement released by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

Oyeyemi said Chief Magistrate I. A. Arogundade suspected the 47-year-old on account of his warped presentation and queried him about the year he was called to bar.

His response that it was 2009 did not pass scrutiny.

“But further enquiry revealed that his name was nowhere to be found among those called to the bar in 2009, hence the police were invited.

“Consequently, the DPO, Ifo Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, detailed his operatives to the scene, where the suspect was apprehended and he is currently undergoing investigation,” Oyeyemi explained.
