After his open declaration to quit Liverpool, Luis Suarez appeared isolated in Liverpool training earlier today.
The Arsenal target had a light kickabout with his daughter at the club’s Melwood Training Ground only a day after pulling up with a foot injury before leaving shortly afterwards.
Suarez had a scan yesterday afternoon and was forced to pull out of a friendly against Valerenga of Norway as his team-mates travelled to Oslo.
But as this picture shows, the striker looks lonely in Liverpool following an interview where he made it clear he would like to leave.
In it, he said: “I’m 26, I need to be playing in the Champions League.
“I feel I’ve done enough to be playing in the Champions League at this stage of my career. Now there’s an option for me to do that and I want very much to take it.
“I don’t feel betrayed but the club promised me ¬something a year ago just as I promised them I would stay and try everything possible to get us into the Champions League.
“They gave me their word a year ago and now I want them to honour that. It’s not just something verbal with the coach but something written in the contract.
“I don’t think the supporters are angry, I think they ¬understand a player when he has the ambition to triumph at the highest level.”
He added that he wants to come to an “amicable agreement”.
