MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF KILLING GIRLFRIEND

Police in River State, said they have arrested a 28-year-old man over the murder of his 21-year-old girlfriend.

According to police, Ahamefula  Chukwu (inset beside lover’s lifeless body), a former student of Government Technical College , Port Harcourt allegedly killed Ifeanyiwa Ani who used to live with him.

Police said Ifeanyiwa’s body was found in front of a clinic at Eliozu in  Ohio /Akpor Local government  council area.

Recounting his relationship with the deceased to the police, the suspect in a statement recalled that they started having affairs in 2012, and it was quite yummy to the point that Ifeanyiwa moved in with him.

However, he said their relationship began to experience hiccups when he found out that he was screwing other men, and had to break away from her.  

It seemed like a regular break up until ifeanyiwa’s lifeless body was found in front of a health centre in Eliozu, Obio Akpor LGA. Dr. Ama Flag Amachree, the Chief Medical Officer of the health centre, reported that the body had three syringe punctures on the buttocks and was dumped there by unknown people at 0430hrs on March 31, 2014.

The  suspect claimed that he last saw the late Ifeanyiwa  in November 2013 when they parted ways after an heated argument over a pregnancy, which the deceased was said to be having at that time and was desperate to terminate.

He confessed that he then gave her 20,000 Naira for an abortion.

The twenty- eight – year  suspect also told the police that a medical doctor in Oogoni area had warned the deceased not to undertake abortion again after doing it severally, and he impressed the warning on her.
