A young man, Chikudi Gideon, has killed himself after stabbing his father, a former lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The incident happened in Zaria where both lived together in Wusasa area.
Gideon was said to have illicit drug problem leading to his mental instability, evident in his manner of keeping to himself and behaving irrationally.
It all came to a head on the fateful day when the 40-year-old attacked his 75-year-old father with knife and left the old man in a pool of blood for Dan Magaji flyover where he committed suicide.
He jumped down from the bridge with his head seriously smashed to the floor and his life cut short by his own doing.
