A man, who killed his wife by pouring acid on her has been convicted of murder, and sentenced to death by hanging.

The convict, Sulaiman Olalekan, was sentenced by Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Thursday, for murder of his wife, Mrs. Chika Egbo on November 20, 2012 in a case of domestic violence. The judgement was handed down by Justice Lawal Akapo.
The deceased and the convict have a child together.
Recall sometime in 2012, 22-year-old Chika, a student of the Enugu State College of Education, was bathed with acid by the convict in Igando area over allegation that the deceased, who was allegedly into prostitution before she accepted to marry him had gone back to the trade.
