A crash in Abuja caused by officers of Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) popularly known as VIO, has led to some persons having injuries of different kinds.

The accident happened on Monday at the Lugbe Bridge along Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road in Abuja around 3.00pm. It was brought about by VIO officers in their operational vehicle driving on top speed against traffic in pursuit of a traffic offender whose sin was not having the right documents.

To the officers, two wrongs did make a right, so in the course of taking the wrong direction their vehicle had a head-on collision with another, an oncoming Toyota Corolla vehicle from the opposite direction with registration number ABJ 717 CE.

The ensuing accident damaged both vehicles in great deal with some occupants of the two sustaining various degrees of injury.

Blames were heaped on the officers by many, who witnessed the scene, it was thrown between alternating insult and demand that they must take care of the victim and the car.
