Report making the rounds that Minister of State for Education, Mr Emeka Uwajiuba, labelled the ravaging COVID-19 as ‘sham’ has drawn his reaction.
A national newspaper reported that Uwajuiba while at the National Assembly on Tuesday to present proposal for the reopening of schools to the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education said coronavirus was a sham.

Reacting to the statement credited to him at Thursday’s Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19 the minister denied saying anything of such.
He explained that those reporters, who imputed the claim to him, could not comprehend his words.
According to him: “I am constrained to refute this allegation that some of our brothers in the media reported that I said Coronavirus is a sham.
“None of those things happened, Coronavirus is real, may be they could not understand my grammar.”
