Punch reports that the 42-year-old Akintayo had invited Adesina and his colleagues to her residence on CAC Street, Oke Aro, around 8pm on Tuesday to apprehend Azeez, who allegedly threatened to kill her over dinner.
It said the deceased who was 23-year-old fought members of the Vigilante group and struggled for the gun in the possession of the leader, Adesina(pictured) during which an accidental discharge occurred and a bullet hit him in the thigh.
The report said Azeez died of bullet injuries sustained in the clash with the vigilante on his way to the hospital. Consequently Adeshina was arrested and is in detention at the Agbado Police Division.
“His death is a relief to me and the family. He was too troublesome. There was a time he beat up an Oodua Peoples Cogress member while we were living in Idimu (Lagos). I spent a lot of money on the man’s treatment.
“A few weeks ago, he fought in Agege. He was seriously injured. He had been arrested many times by the police for several offences,” Azeez’s mother told the paper.
