Kabir Muhammed Lawal, Legislative Assistant to a member of the House of Representatives, Mustafa Saidu from Adamawa State, has been caught breaking into the office of another lawmaker from Kano State, Kabiru Idris.
Burglary has become a regular occurrence in the National Assembly with the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Benjamin Kalu, once a victim.
Others who have been in Kalu’s shoe include, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Hon. Muhammed Gausu Boyi, representing Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency, Jigawa State.
But on Friday, the lid on the perpetrator(s) was blown wide open courtesy of closed-circuit television camera with Lawal, who hails from Kwara caught in the act while breaking into Idris’ office, according to Punchng.com.
“He put off the light in my office but my cameras were on and I could see him. He used different keys. I could see from the camera; he was struggling to open the door and it was less than 15 minutes after I closed from the office. Basically, he was monitoring my movements. We have all the videos,” the Kano lawmaker told the paper.
