Seyi, one of the sons of deceased Lateef Kayode Jakande said the former Lagos governor died in his sleep.
Jakande died on Thursday at aged 91.
Sharing knowledge about the last moment of the first Lagos civilian governor, Seyi in an interview with The Nation, said the Senior Jakande was not sick and upon taking his breakfast in his characteristic manner went back to bed only to die in his sleep.
“Usually, my dad returned to sleep after breakfast and so, when he finished taking his breakfast (pap) yesterday, he went back to sleep.
“It was around 11am that an aide checked on him and discovered he wasn’t breathing. We called a doctor and it was confirmed he had passed on. He died in his sleep,” he told the paper.
Late Jakande has been be buried today at the Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos.
