Anuoluwapo Sanni, wife of suspected terrorist, Gafar Sanni, has debunked claim of her husband being in the business of killing on religious grounds.
Gafar was arrested in Ijora-Badia area of Lagos State as result of his dressing which suggested that he was a terrorist hiding his identity.
He dressed up in long female robe with hijab and dark glasses. This raised suspicion that he was up to something causing a mob to descend on him and ended up in the custody of the police.
His wife has dismissed suggestion that the suspect was a terrorist in an interview with Punchng, saying he is an electrician with a mental health problem.
“Since last month, he has been behaving strangely at home. He can just sit alone and start speaking incoherently. Whenever I asked him what was going on, he would say nothing. At times, when I serve him food, he won’t eat it. When his strange behaviour became constant, I informed his father and he promised to look into the matter.
“My husband is not a terrorist. The police should please release him. He has been taking care of me and my children as I no longer have parents,” the paper quoted the mother-of-two as saying.
