Ahmed was arrested on Monday over alleged diversion of N9 billion, property of Kwara while he was the Commissioner for Finance in the state in the administration of ex-governor Bukola Saraki.

Report said the ex-governor was grilled for hours by the anti-graft operatives and was made to sleep at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

Ahmed was said to have arrived at the EFCC office at about 10am yesterday to honour the agency’s invitation.

Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the former governor responded to the commission’s invitation.
