The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has closed down the popular Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja where popular musician, Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, played on Saturday.
The closure followed the flagrant violation of COVID-19 protocols in force to curtail the virus spread by Marley and the teeming fun seekers that gathered at the event, which was meant to be a “drive-in concert”.
The singer previously had a run in with the law for similar infraction but got a slap on the wrist.
He has came under intense attack online for breaching the rule again including that of ban on inter-state travel as he is believed to have travelled from Lagos to FCT for the show.
In an interview with newsmen, Chairman of the Ministerial Enforcement Task team on COVID-19 restrictions, Ikharo Attah, said the sealing of the mall followed a judgment from a mobile court headed by Magistrate Idayat Akonni, who ordered its closure for two weeks for default of the COVID-19 protocols following three count charges.
