The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has ordered the immediate closure of Ekiti State Broadcasting Service for breach of broadcasting Code.

The closure followed the announcement of fake results of Saturday’s governorship election by the state-owned television and radio stations.
NBC took the decision to curb the continued breach of the Electoral Act and the Broadcasting Code on Political Broadcast after Governor Ayodele Fayose went on air to declare the said fake result and in the course poured vitriolic invective on the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, the police and the Department of State Service accusing them of conniving with the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to rig the election in favour of the latter.
