A 6-year-old girl born to Nigerian parents in UK was run over yesterday morning by her mother’s car while she (her mum) was trying to park her car.
Bolutito Shodipe (pictured) was unknowingly knocked down and killed by her own mother after she ran towards the car while the mum was parking.
The incident according to itv.com happened outside Hounslow West tube station in south-west London.
In a statement released by the bereaved family, the Shodipes described Bolutito as a dotting daughter who will be sorely missed. They added that they are “coming to terms with this terrible accident”.
“Bolutito was our eldest daughter and no-one could have asked for a better daughter. She was a beautiful, well behaved, girl who loved ballet and who will be sorely missed by all of us.
” This is an extremely upsetting time for us and we ask that we be given the respect and space to grieve and to come to terms with this terrible accident.”
British Transport Police said officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics tried to resuscitate Bolutito at the scene but she was later pronounced dead at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. They say they are providing full support to the family while detectives try to determine how the incident occurred.
