Nigerians are looking for magic President – Fashola


The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said Nigerians are let down by their expectation of a ‘magic president’.

Speaking on Channels Television, Fashola, when asked about his stewardship, said Nigerians have a misplaced expectations of the federal government and the president.

The minister explained that the public ought to be looking in the direction of the states and local governments for most of the projects expected from the federal government.

“The government that can transform and give us what we want quickly are the government closest to us – state and local government.

“Looking for the Federal Government or a magic President is why we seem to have been disappointed. We are looking for the results in the wrong place.

“Governance is not magic. It is the act of the possible and our responsibility is to always project hope,” he said.
