Not wearing face masks now criminal offence – Gov. Sanwo-Olu


Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, said it has become an offence in the state not to have face mask on.

Sanwoolu had last week during one of his routine press briefings wherein he provides update on the pandemic coronavirus said as from this week, face mask defaulters would face the music of their actions  or inactions legally.

”We are asking offices, business and commercial premises to refuse entry to any persons not wearing masks in line with the Presidential Task Force directive on ”No mask, no entry”.

”No mask, no service enforcement agencies will from this week charge defaulters to court, as the period of grace is now over,” the governor said.

On Sunday, he reminded the residents that the D-day for the enforcement has arrived saying via a statement he released: “Remember, it is now a criminal offence in Lagos State to go out without using a facemask. Let’s continue to adhere strictly to all public advisories given by government #ForACOVID19FreeLagos.”
