A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George, says Former Minister of State for Defence, Musilu Obanikoro is from Ibadan and not Lagos as the latter made people to believe.
Chief George stated this against the backdrop of agitation that non-indigenes have taken over the Lagos political space in an interview he granted Punch.

He said, “Of course Koro is not originally from Lagos. I am a bonafide Lagosian so I know a lot of things. Let me tell you a story. Koro’s father, as told by Baba Adedibu, was from Ibadan. The story is that they came to live in Lagos but they are originally from Ibadan. His mother is an Owu woman, and they worked in Obanikoro’s palace. I won’t say more than that. Baba Adedibu told Obanikoro this story when he went to lobby Adedibu to beg me.”
The Former Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority in the interview shared his view on the recent reconciliation between Obanikoro and APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying, “I feel sorry for him. Tinubu and others were responsible for my travails during the Nigeria Ports Authority crisis when I was sent to prison for doing nothing. I can only wish Obanikoro the best of luck.”
