Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has formally announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress to pursue his re-election bid.
Obaseki is at loggerheads with his predecessor and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over the control of the party in Edo culminating in the party disqualifying from contesting its governorship primary on alleged defect in his credentials.
The governor, who is hell-bent on seeking re-election announced his defection from the party, while fielding questions from newsmen at the State House after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.
The embattled governor however was coy about the party he was defecting to despite overt indications that he was talking to the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
