The House called for Adegite’s sack following an altercation between the commissioner and the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Honorable Olakunle Oluomo, who presided over the committee of the whole house meeting, held at the Committee Room, of the Assembly Complex.

Last week the Assembly had summoned Adegbite and three others including Special Duties, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Budget and Planning, Leke Adewolu, Jide Ojuko and Ms Aderenle Adesina, to appear before it based on submissions from members on the need to commence the rehabilitation of roads across the rural areas in the state.

But trouble started at the occasion when Adegbite asked Olumo to apologise for keeping them waiting for over an hour. A demand. the lawmaker took exception to, and led to an exchange of hot words.

At plenary sitting on Thursday, the Majority Leader, Yinka Mafe, moved the motion passing vote of no confidence on Adegbite, and calling for his sack.

Mafe’s motion was seconded by Hon. Tunde Sanusi.

“For his misconduct and being unfit and improper to be a commissioner. And this honourable House hereby advise His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to immediately suspend the commissioner and cause him to hand over all the paraphernalia of office to the Permanent Secretary and cease to parade himself as a commissioner of Ogun State,” Mafe said.

The motion was passed unanimously just as the House adjourned sitting till next Tuesday.
