Ondo State Deputy Governor and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Hon Agboola Ajayi, has called for the cancellation of the result of the Owo Local Government election.
Gov Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led the pack in Owo with 35,957 votes while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Eyitayo Jegede and Ajayi came a distant second and third with 5,311 and 408 votes respectively.
The deputy governor has called for the cancellation of the results citing alleged electoral malpractices at some of the polling stations captured on video circulating on social media.
Ajayi said he had watched the videos and in civilised climes, elections in such circumstances are usually cancelled.
