Popular comedian, Bolaji Amusan, aka ‘Mr Latin, has debunked claims that the deaths of late Mrs Folake Aremu, and her siblings, Mr Steve Onisola and Mrs Janet Ademola were COVID-19 related.
The trio died within a space of three days with rumour rife that they were killed by the rampaging coronavirus.
But contrary to the report making the rounds, Latin, late Orisabunmi’s colleague in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood and the president of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) said none of the deceased actress and her siblings died of COVID-19 in an interview with Vanguardngr.com.
He told the paper that while Janet’s husband had debunked claim that he lost his wife to the rampaging disease, he went on to explain that both Orisabunmi and her elder brother, Mr Onisola(71-year-old) had been sick for long, adding that the latter died upon hearing the sad news of the actress’ death.
Quoting the actor, who hinted that Orisabunmi’s younger sister (Janet) died of heart related disease, the publication wrote, “If Orisabunmi’s sister had died of Covid-19 the hospital in Ibadan where she died would have been shut down. But it’s business as usual in the hospital.”
