The Nigerian anti-corruption commission, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a 53-year-old civil servant, Mrs Oyawoye Olajumoke Fafemi, over allegation that she defrauded 23 church members seeking employment.

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Commission arraigned Fafemi, a staff member of the Kwara State Ministry of Finance on Monday, before Justice Mohammed Sani of the Federal High Court in Ilorin.

She was arraigned on four counts bordering on employment scam and Hajj pilgrimage fraud.

A statement issued by the agency on Tuesday, signed by its Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said the defendant was accused of collecting various sums of money from 23 members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Offa, Kwara State, under the guise of helping them secure employment in the Kwara State Civil Service Commission and Federal Government Parastatals which she never fulfilled.
