Passenger’s leg falls into lagoon in Third Mainland Bridge accident


A passenger’s leg flung into lagoon after it was severed in an accident involving a commercial bus and Toyota saloon car on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, on Sunday morning.

The unidentified passenger, who sat in the front of the commercial bus’ seat was said to have been rushed to Gbagada General Hospital without his severed limb.
According to report more than eight people sustained injuries in the accident that was blamed on reckless driving by both drivers of the two vehicles.

Report said both vehicles crashed into the railings by the side of the bridge and the passenger’s severed limb was dangling on the bridge barrier for a while before it fell into the lagoon.

Effort to recover the missing limb by the Marine Police and a team of RRS officials are ongoing at the time of this publication while the vehicles have been moved by LASEMA Response Unit to avoid congestion.
