Founder of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo is in court for dismissing senior pastor of the church in Calabar, Pastor Dominic Essang.
Essang is accusing Oyedepo of maltreatment, sacking him unjustly and alleging the Winners Chapel founder of gang up despite that on his (Essang’s) watch the church branches in Cross Rivers State grew to six.
In the suit before the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Calabar Judicial Division, the plaintiff said his sack was never his grouse, but the manner it was carried out. He said it ran afoul of due process.
Speaking on the matter in an interview with newsmen, the aggrieved pastor said due to it he has been unbale to meet his commitment to his children and landlord.
His word, “I was a member of that church for over a decade before training to become a pastor. At least, I have spent more than two decades in the ministry; that alone makes me a son to our General Overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo.
“According to the Living Faith’s operational mandate, before a pastor is sacked, such would first be queried in writing and made to appear before a disciplinary committee.
“I was not given the opportunity to appear before any disciplinary panel to defend myself. As I speak to you, I can’t even pay my children’s school fees nor pay my rent, or afford food, clothings and medicine for my kids.”
