A pastor’s wife, Mrs. Angela Uzoma was yesterday arraigned before the Egibo Magistrates Court for assaulting her younger sister and causing the little girl bodily harm.
The 28-year old housewife who is also the women’s leader in her husband’s ministry at Shasha in Alimosho Area of Lagos State, committed the offence when she poured hot water on Chidinma Chukwu, 14, over the latter’s failure to sell all the pawpaw she gave to her to hawk.
It was gathered that the incident which occurred at their residence at Ifelodun Street, Orisunmbare, in Shasha area of Lagos State, drew the attention of neighbours who invited the police when she attempted to conceal the crime by treating her at home.
When she was arraigned before the Ejigbo magistrates’ court for injuring the teenager yesterday, she pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. P.E Nwaka, granted her bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum but she was ordered to be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Apapa, when she couldn’t fulfill the bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned to December 12, 2013
