First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has resigned her appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service.
An office that was conferred on her by the state governor, Seriake Dickson in July 2012, and generated opprobrium, the 57-year-old was said to have resigned voluntarily as a permanent secretary in the ministry of education.
Reports have it that her resignation may not be unconnected to her support for the governorship ambition of Special Assistant to the President on Domestic Matters, Mr. Waripamowei Dudafa in the state.
This it was said drove a wedge in the relationship between her and the incumbent governor, Dickson who is seeking re-election.
