The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in Plateau State governorship, Senator Gyang Pwajok, has died three days after he lost at the election tribunal.

The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, had on Monday upheld the election of All Progressive Congress candidate, Simon Lalong as governor of Plateau State after the PDP’s candidate, Gyang Pwajok filed a petition challenging the victory of Mr. Lalong at the tribunal, alleging irregularities in the conduct of the April 11 governorship elections in the state.

A verdict Senator Pwajok may have found unpalatable, the worse happened to him in faraway India where he had been on admission in a hospital after he fell ill in May, 2015.

He died of liver disease at age of 48.

The deceased was the Chief of Staff to the administration of ex-governor David Jang, and later a senator representing Plateau North after the death of Senator Gyang Dantong who was killed in July 2012 while attending a mass burial in Barakin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.
