Police confirm deaths of 3 persons in false kidnap alarm


The Police said three persons died in Kaduna on Monday of the false alarm raised by a fugitive, one Alhaji Musa Imam.

Imam who jumped bail was trailed by three of his friends who stood as surety for him in Lagos.

Trouble started at Kawo flyover in the metropolis when the fleeing fugitive raised the alarm that the trio wanted to abduct him precipitating a mob to attack them during which one of them, a driver who drove the vehicle they were in was killed.

The other two ran into a fuel station nearby and while trying to disperse the mob who were baying for their blood, gunshots fired by police caused deaths of the persons in the crowd.

Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna state, DSP Yakubu Sabo, in a statement said that Alhaji Imam was arrested at about 5:00pm on Tuesday.
