The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar remarried last Thursday, less than two years after his wife, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar died of cancer in a local clinic in Kano in January 2012.
The IG took Zarha Bunu as his new wife at the National Mosque, Abuja.
And on hand for the wedding (fathia), which was conducted by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Ustaz Mohammed were the Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed, Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, multi-billionaire industrialist, Aliko Dangote, some state governors, some members of the National Assembly and many other dignitaries.
The reception which was held at the ThisDay Dome was attended by Govs. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, Idris Wada of Kogi State, Acting Governor of Taraba, Alhaji Garba Umar, Senators Andy Uba and Paulinus Igwe.
Other dignitaries included former Chief Security Officer to late Gen. Sani Abacha, Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, Zenon Oil boss, Femi Otedola and Mr. Akin Oshuntokun, the former MD of the News Agency of Nigeria.
