Professor accuses Pantami of involvement in his undergraduate son’s killing


A former lecturer of Industrial Chemistry at the Kaduna State University, Professor Samuel Achi, has accused embattled Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, of having a hand in the killing of his son, Sunday, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University mosque in Bauchi State in 2004 by Muslim fanatics.

Pantami has come in for attack following the revelation of his past radical views in support of Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Late Sunday, a 400-level student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University was killed by fanatical Muslim students on the back of a fatwa the Minister who was then the institution’s Chief Imam passed on him over claim that he blasphemed Prophet Muhammed, according to the deceased’s father in an interview he granted

“The incident happened in the early hours of the 9th of December (2004). It was from the night of  December 8  to the early hours of December 9 that it  happened. From the fact that I had; from clear indications; from the confirmed information that I had, he was not stoned. He was actually strangled inside the mosque. His body was discovered outside the university mosque,” Professor Achi told the paper.
