An air of shock permeated the corridors outside the Akure home of former Ondo State Commissioner for Information and a Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, 54 years old Ranti Akerele following his death in his sleep on Tuesday morning.
Friends and family mulled over what could have caused the death of the father-of-two, who on Monday evening held a house fellowship with some of his church members in his house.
The shock came early on Tuesday morning when his family could not wake him up and having locked himself up in his room had to force open the door
There was no report of the former Commissioner being ill before his sudden demise. His death is causing concern over whether this could be another case of sudden death syndrome.
However, unconfirmed report linked the death to heart attack.
It was further gathered that the late Akerele’s remains have been deposited at the morgue of First Mercy Hospital in Akure.
