Robbery: Saraki shuns police invitation

The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, may have shunned invitation extended to him by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to face interrogation over his alleged role in the Offa bank robbery, a vile operation in which scores of persons were killed including police officers.

Some of the suspects arrested are Senator Saraki’s political thugs.

Similarly, a car the Senate President gifted one of them was used for the dastardly operation, prompting the police to invite the Senate President then, an invitation he did not honour.

Idris, again invited Saraki on Monday over alleged links to the crime.

Indication emerged that the Senate President for the second time shunned the invitation after he presided over plenary session of the senate on Monday where 13 senators including his core loyalist, Dino Melaye, and Kano ex-governor Rabiu Kwankwaso decamped to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
