The Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki is not happy with Kwara State executive committee of All Progressive Congress over alleged dirty deals in the composition of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) for the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
Except that out Offa, tenure of all local government areas’ chairmen in the state will expire in November, 2016.
Consequently, Saraki, the godfather of Kwara politics directed the affected local government areas to nominate three candidates per a local government area for consideration for TIC chairmen and also candidates for supervisory councilors.
He also ordered the local power brokers not to nominate incumbent local government areas’ chairmen.
But it was said a section of the exco members failed to obey Saraki’s order. Allegedly in the league of transgressors was the chairman of APC in Ilorin West Local Government, Alh. Bala Olarewaju.
Chairman, Ilorin West Local Government Area, Alh. Tajudeen Sulu Oloje was alleged to have greased Alh. Olarewaju’s palm with N2.6m to get his name on the list.
It was said that the duo were not alone in the alleged bribe-for-appointment deal.
Sources told OrijoReporter that when the list was presented to Saraki last week for ratification while in Ilorin, only about three names on it was acceptable to him.
It was said that the Senate President was so angry that he suspended Alh. Olarewaju from office and reprimanded others.
