The Presidential Committee Against Corruption (PCAC) has said Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu could not have gotten justice from the Senate as not few senators are under anti-graft agencies investigation.
“The list of these senators is available with the EFCC. Some of them are already on trial to the knowledge of the public.
“We have written formally to the government on the politics which beclouded the rejection of Magu by the Senate,“ a member of PCAC was quoted by a national newspaper to have said.
Recall the Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki is facing a 13-count charge at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) bordering on false assets declaration while he was Kwara State governor.
Former Zamfara State governor, Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the Senate. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is investigating him over alleged N1bn fraud.
Ex-governor of Gombe State now representing Gombe Central Senatorial District is facing an 18- count charge bordering on conspiracy and fraud to N25bn instituted by the EFCC.
Others, who are facing corruption charges are Senators Abdullahi Adamu, Abdulaziz Murtala Nyako, Joshua Chibi Dariye, Godswill Obot Akpabio and Ike Ekweremadu.
