Singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng better known by his stage name, Skales, has revealed that his family background was so poor that he was not proud of his mother.

The ‘Shake body’ crooner, who disclosed this in an interview he granted Punch where he revealed that he was raised by a single mother, said his father ran away from the family when he was a child, and has not returned till date.
“My father left us when I was really young; I do not even know how he looks like. My mother and I used to sleep in a shopping complex at a time.
“…My mother would go to my friends’ houses to do their laundry, which was embarrassing to me. I had to deny my mother. I also did not let my friends know where I lived because most of them were children of politicians,” the 25-year-old told the paper.
