Two men, Olusegun Osunniran 45 and Gabriel Oladimeji 60, who allegedly stole chemicals worth N30.2m from their employer were on Tuesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court Lagos.
The defendants, who are Warehouse manager, and assistant Warehouse manager respectively are facing a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against them by the police.
The duo whose residential addresses are 15 Unity Crescent, Giwa Oke-Aro, Lagos and 6 Adelere Street Okun-Akute Ogun State respectively were docked before Chief Magistrate S. A Sonuga.
The prosecutor Inspector Ingobo Emby, told the Court that the defendants conspired with others who are still at large to commit the alleged offence.
He said that the defendants stole 10 bags of Hydro- Qumine Chemical valued at N30.250million, property of Sink Beauty Ltd Company.
Emby said that the incident occurred between July and December 2016, at 8/10, Billing Way, Oregun Ikeja Lagos.
The prosecutor said that the defendants committed the offence while they were still in the employment of Skin Beauty Ltd as Warehouse manager and assistant warehouse manager.
According to him the offence committed is Punishable under Sections 409 and 285 (8) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
However the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.
Consequently Magistrate Sonuga granted them bail in the sum of N10million each with two sureties each in like sum.
He said that they must show evidence of three years tax payment, and have the addresses of the sureties verified by the prosecutor.
The Magistrate adjourned the case to March 9, 2017, for mention.
