A Private Soldier, Saeed Sabo, has reportedly killed a vendor, Offor Uchenna, in Umuahia, Abia State.
The Uchenna’s killing, report said, happened last Saturday on Saturday morning around Umuahia railway station.
Sabo is with 82 division of Nigerian Army, Enugu and is attached to a Chinese construction company in Umuahia, Abia State.
The killer was said to have stabbed the 34-year-old vendor in the chest after argument ensued between them over the soldier’s failure to pay the victim the money for goods he bought on credit and was seeking to procure another one(s) on the same terms.
Sources, who witnessed the incident said, Sabo lunged at Uchenna with a dirty slap. In turn, the deceased held his uniform to which the soldier reacted with a knife to his victim’s right chest under the breast.
It led to a commotion as Uchenna was in the pool of his own blood, while his attacker was not allowed to flee the scene by the crowd attracted to the scene and handed over to the police.
Subsequently, the deceased vendor was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia for treatment where he was pronounced dead.
