The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APGA) in the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial Election, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has come under verbal attack over alleged Imo slur credited to him.
Soludo over the weekend while mobilizing support for his candidacy at the presentation of his 72-page Agenda in Lagos said, “Those who want to write result are causing violence to create the impression of insecurity so as postpone or hijack the election. We want to tell them: It is not possible. The election must be held because Anambra is not Imo.”
The former CBN governor’s statement has drawn him opprobrium in certain quarters in Imo, who viewed his utterance as a dig at the people of the State.
“We, the people of Imo State are of the opinion that Soludo threw a jab at us. He insulted us unequivocally saying we are lily-livered and permissive persons and even fraudulent. We take serious exception to this,” one Patrick Nwachukwu posted on Facebook in his contribution to the thread.
In a related development, report said the APGA candidate got cold reception at Alaba Market, a stronghold of Igbo traders during his campaign trail in Lagos.
