Tambuwal forces aides to swear with Quran as 252 resign from cabinet


Sokoto State Governor, Mallam Aminu Waziri Tambuwal saw the dark sides of two hundred and fifty-two persons in his cabinet hitherto unknown to him, as they resigned citing the governor’s defection to the Peoples Democratic Party as their reason.

“We deem it fit to state categorically that we are not ready to join Governor Tambuwal in his new party (PDP). That was what informed our decision. We will remain in APC and there is no going back,” their spokesman, Hon. Dasuki Haske, who was until Sunday when they addressed newsmen the governor’s SA.

Another speaker, also Tambuwal’s former aide, Hajia Rabi Tudunwada, accused the governor of compelling her colleagues to swear with Quran while promising to defect from APC before receiving their August salaries adding that some of them refused to take the oath, and instead resigned from their respective positions.
