Three men were on Monday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly attacking gospel singer Yinka Ayefele at a reception held for the visit of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to Ekiti State last week.
The trio, Kolade Owolabi (35), Tope Olorunfemi (22) and Isiaka Yusuf (20), were alleged to have vandalised Ayefele’s car after the Tungba crooner refused their demand for money (settlement) after his show at the palace of Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe Aladesanmi 111, came to a close.
Police prosecutor Bankole Olasunkanmi told the court that the accused conspired and unlawfully damaged the windscreen of the gospel singer’s vehicle at the Ewi’s palace on October 27 at 7:30 pm.
He said the offence contravened Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap C16 Vol 1 Laws of Ekiti 2012.
The accused were admitted to bail at N50,000 and one surety after pleading not guilty to the charges by Chief Magistrate, Idowu Ayenimo.
Ayenimo adjourned the case till November 8 for further hearing.
