A former Chelsea and Newcastle star, Ghanaian international, Christian Atsu, is said to be among those trapped under the rubble in Turkey after a huge 7.7 magnitude earthquake rocked the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep on Monday.
Local media reports that the rescue team are industriously in search of those under the rubble including the Black Star player, who is now on the books at Super Lig club, Hataysport.
The club Sporting Director, Taner Savut, and some other players also remain missing under rubble at their respective homes.
Many of the club players have been rescued.
The earthquake hit hard in Kahramanmaras, where Hatayspor is based.
The present death toll, according to report is about 1,800 people with dozens of buildings destroyed.
