Two of the six police officers accused of killing a 26-year-old man in Aba, Mr. Onyekachi Chukwu and using him for ritual have been dismissed by the police authorities.

The killer cops (name withheld) attached to the Federal Highway patrol unit of the Nigeria Police, Aba section were alleged to have walked up to the late Onyekachi on the pretext that he was an armed robber and shot him in cold blood.

However, the deceased’s mutilated body, which was later found in a dump site at Akpa Village in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state, and more than 20 skulls and decomposing bodies gave them away.

It was gathered that the dismissed officers are junior cadre while two others who are senior officers’ fate were yet to be determine because the Police Commissioner lacks power to fire them. Their cases were said to have been taken up by the Police Service Commission, PSC.

The elder brother to the deceased, Mr. Uche Chukwu, told newsmen that his family had appealed to the police to expedite action on the trial of the indicted officers and also track down the two others who are at large.

According to him, the trauma of the murder of their younger brother was still being felt by the family, including the widow and mother, stressing that they were waiting for justice.
