Jamb Registrar, Unilorin VC accused of N2bn fraud


Immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Ishaq-Oloyede, and his successor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, are facing fraud scandal.

Prof. Oloyede(pictured above), who is now the registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, the incumbent VC of Unilorin, Prof. Ambali, and their management teams are accused of pension fraud, unremitted deductions, extortion of students, contract inflation and kick-backs, as well as unlawful payments to ex-principal officers of the university.

The accusation of fraud was made against them by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in a petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They were alleged to have siphoned more than N2bn belonging to the institution in the petition jointly signed by the Ibadan Zonal Chairmen of ASUU, Dr. Ade Adejumo, Dr. Deji Omole, Dr. Biodun Olaniran of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Dr. Dauda Adeshina, Kwara State University, and Dr. Kayode Afolayan of UNILORIN.
