Senate President Bukola Saraki said his presence at the Abeokuta home of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday to meet with the ex-President was apolitical.
Saraki is in the throes of political battle as the leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, called for his resignation as Senate President after he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The visit of the embattled Senate President to Obasanjo is believed to have political undertone.
But while speaking to newsmen in Abeokuta, Saraki explained away his visit saying: “You know I missed the official opening of the library and that is why I have decided to come and see the place and honestly it is beautiful. We are very proud of what he has done here.”
