The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday said it won’t attempt to arrest wife of outgoing Governor of Anambra State, Ebelechukwu Obiano; and widow of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Bianca for breach of public peace
Mrs Obiano and Bianca engaged themselves in a fight at swearing-in ceremony of Chukwuma Soludo as the new governor of the state. It all started when Obiano’s wife left her seat to where Bianca seated and allegedly threw jabs at her to which the deceased warlord’s widow responded with a slap leading to a fist-cuff.
Consequently it sparked call for their arrest on social media for breach of public peace.
Responding to the call in an interview with Punch, The Command spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, said there was no need for their arrest saying, “Because of the intervention of security personnel, the quarrel between the two personalities didn’t escalate. Meanwhile, the event continued without any further problems and if there is any need to interface between the two, the Police Command will do so.”
