The allegation by Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, that Senator Shehu Umar Buba is a fan of banditry in the State has excited response from the Senator.

The latter who represents Bauchi-south Senatorial District in the Red Chamber as per the governor sponsored suspected bandits among them one Abubakar Idris, to Hajj signposting his support for banditry.

The allegation provoked reaction from Buba through a statement his Legislative Assistant, Hassan Gajin Duguri issued.

It partly reads: “It is the responsibility of security services to conduct due diligence on potential Hajj pilgrims, Senator Buba sponsors numerous individuals for the pilgrimage each year, based on recommendations from elders, community leaders, and religious figures.

“We are aware that Hajiya Zainab Ali was thoroughly screened and permitted to perform Hajj, whereas Abubakar Idris was arrested for further investigation without any interference from the senator’s office.”
