Brigadier General Musa Abubakar Sadiq said to be the leader of the failed-coup plotters has been reported to have soiled his hands in the past.
The past scandal ascribed to Brigadier General Sadiq is contained in a report on the identities of the officers involved in the rumoured-failed coup by Premium Times.
The online news medium unveiled the identities of the embattled officers which include a brigadier general, a colonel, four lieutenant colonels, five majors, two captains, a lieutenant, a lieutenant commander from the Navy (the naval equivalent of a major) and a squadron leader from the Air Force.
It claimed that Sadiq, with service number N/10321 is suspected to be the leader of the alleged coup plot, and belongs to the infantry corps.
“In October 2024, he was reportedly detained for alleged diversion of rice palliatives, selling of military equipment, including generator sets and operational vehicles to scrap yards,” the publication quoted an unnamed sources as saying.
Others listed are: Colonel M.A. Ma’aji, Lt. Colonel S. Bappah, Lt Colonel A.A. Hayatu, with service number N/13038, Lt. Colonel M. Almakura,
Major A. J Ibrahim, with service number N/13065, Major M.M. Jiddah, Major M.A. Usman and Major D. Yusuf.
The list also include: Major I. Dauda, Captain Ibrahim Bello, Captain A. A Yusuf with service number N/16724; Lieutenant S.S Felix with service number N/18105; Lieutenant Commander D. B.
