Actress Samha Inuwa has been arrested for allegedly using naira notes to clean mucus from her nose.
Inuwa’s alleged action is viewed as naira abuse and mutilation, an offence under the law.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who picked up the Kannywood star in Kano said in a statement shared on its Facebook that the thespian was apprehended on Tuesday, February 3.
In the report, EFCC stated that the actress’ arrest followed a viral video circulated on social media platforms where she was seen conspicuously cleaning mucus from her nose using naira notes.
“Following the release of the viral video, the commission swung into action by tracing and subsequently arrested her to answer questions.
“She is currently being held at the Commission’s detention facility while investigation is ongoing,” the statement reads in part.
The commission remarked that the suspect would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
