One Abidemi Emmanuel has been arrested for raping a content creator, Fems Thrift, and her friend.
The alleged incident happened in Lagos on February 8 at Ajao Estate.
Emmanuel had allegedly lured Fem Thrift to an apartment at Ajao Estate on the pretext of a fake modelling gig which the popular content creator attended with her friend.
According to the popular content creator the 23-year-old suspect parading himself as a UK returnee about to launch an international fashion brand in Nigeria contacted her on Instagram.
In her account, she fell into the trap because the suspects
offered to pay her N140,000 for the promotion of the brand.
All however turned out to be a trap to rape her and her friend at knife point, Fem Thrift said in a viral TikTok in which she said Emmanuel took their nude pictures and threatened to make them public if they reported the case to the police.
At the urging of the public the victims complained to the police resulting in the suspect’s arrest.
“The suspect, Abidemi Emmanuel, 23 years, is currently in custody while the investigation is ongoing at the Command Gender Unit.
“The case is being handled in line with global best practices for sexual and gender-based violence investigations, ensuring the protection, dignity, and welfare of the survivors,” the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said in a statement credited to her.
